The Rapture is Coming

Enough waiting…we’re so excited about this. As if Steve Aoki alone wasn’t enough, we’re following it up with THE RAPTURE (DJ set). That’s right, the guys behind “Whoo! Alright — Yeah… Uh Huh” and “House of Jealouse Lovers”.

Heading up the DJ set will be Druzzi or you may know him as Gabe from THE RAPTURE. Gabe is the multi instrumentalist within the band playing saxaphone, and all the percussion (its his cowbell you hear on ‘House of Jealous Lovers’). He is also, like his cohort in the band Matty B Safer a great DJ as well, originally from Chicago where he created the legendary ‘Druzzi’s Rave Club of Baltimore’ in homage to his love of Baltimore club scene, after upping sticks to New York in 2001 he hooked up with The Rapture and DJing took a back seat for a while. At present he DJ’s at the Plant Bar in NYC and the famous Hush Hush Weekender parties he began with Matt B.Safer.

Steve Aoki. The man behind Dim Mak Records who founded artists from Bloc Party, The Kills, The Gossip, Klaxons and many more also is the same man behind the production moniker Weird Science that has remixed Peaches, Snoop Dogg and Bloc Party. Under his own name, Aoki has remixed Duran Duran and Timbaland as well as produced original work with internationally renowned producer, Junkie XL.

Hailing from Los Angeles you can check most of his antics up on his partner in crime’s website www.TheCobrasnake.com and read his infamous blog on www.dimmak.com. Not to mention he’s got his own clothing line to boot.

A Very Coda Hollaween

When Saturday morning rolled around, you probably were asking yourself…”What he hell did I do last night?”
Don’t worry, after a night of candy, lazers, and consuming nearly a small lake of vodka…that’s a pretty normal reaction.

More Proof DJs and Girl Problems killed it on the dancefloor and Nurse Joker cleaned up in the costume contest. Better luck next year “Unnecessarily Large Bulge Man”.

Enough suspense!
The Coda Halloween party is tomorrow and the Fix has you covered. Johnny Hockin and More Proof Djs will be coming in from Toronto to bowl you over – along with Girl Problems of Blue Dog’s SQUEEZE Wednesdays fame.

But wait…. there’s more! We’re having a full out costume contest with some pretty fab prizes.

This week, we’ve got Royal Rumble in from LA. These three are going to tear the place to shreds. Though that shouldn’t surprise you, because this is The Fix we’re talking about. It’s simple math: The Fix + the geniuses behind my favourite remixes of Damn Girl and Miserable Girl = unforgettable insanity on the dance floor.

Your feet will also be pleased to hear that local faves 132 BPM (also part of RTFF) are back, and I’m hearing rumours that they may be joined by their partner in violent above-the-skyline crime, La Débauche…

This show is so hot, I got scooped.
